Conclusion

In the beginning we all believed the chupacabra was out there. As we researched we started to realize that there wasn't any evidence to prove the chupacabra's existence. We think that people keep making claims because of what they see on the media. Most of us said that we believed the chupacabra to be some kind of hairless dog/coyote but when the media started playing it up to be some kind of alien looking creature it seemed not so credible. We think that this legend will probably continue because people are always going to make claims.

What Happened to the Chupacabra?

According to oftm.com the Chupacabra has completely vanished. Many paranormal creatures are still being seen such as Bigfoot and Loch Ness. The chupacabra has stopped being seen within the past couple years. OFTM gives theories of how the Chupacabra may have disappeared. They say that maybe the government finally recaptured there cloned creature or maybe aliens came down to re-capture their biological weapon. Or were the people involved in seeing and hunting Goatsucker tired of carrying on the hoax?

Human's Gullibility. UFO's and Chupacabra Related?

From most of the cites I have researched I have found that there is never any skepticism to whether the chupacabra is a myth, the skepticism is always towards why the chupacabra is real. Most cites are trying to prove that the chupacabra is real.
A recent cite stated that the Chupacabra is probably a government experiment towards the creating of a new species. This makes the government sound corrupt.

"Nilo recalled that a resident of La Palmilla is devoted to looking for water to build wells and tanks. He used his tools in one of the chicken coops where the creature or animal attacked the hens and found that the tools had acquired radiation and a strange energy."

"We believe it’s an extraterrestrial pet, a programmed being, a hybrid or cloned species designed to extract bodily fluids or liquids from the birds in order to feed itself, or with another purpose altogether. It is associated to the UFO phenomenon and is very intelligent. For this reason it will not be captured," he added.

Cryptozoology

Cryptozoology is the study of animals that are assumed to exist. The hard evidence is missing to prove their existence. Cryptozoologists think that people should be open to the possibility that many more animals do exist and we just have't found them all yet. The creatures that the cryptozoologists study or try to prove they exist are called cryptids. The chupacabra is considered a cryptid. People claim that they have encountered a chupacabra, but the hard evidence proving these claims is just not there.

Chupacabra Movies

There were two movies made about the Chupacabra, one in 2003, called ‘El Chupacabra’ and another one in 2005, called ‘Chupacabra Terror’. In first movie made ‘El Chupacabra’ the Chupacabra is set loose in LA, and money is rewarded to the person who get’s it Dead or Alive. In the second movie made ‘Chupacabra Terror’ the creator is smuggled onto a cruise boat which goes from the Caribbean to the United States. The Chupacabra get’s out of his cage and kills the passengers one after another.
In both movies, the Chupacabra does not kill and suck out animals, its main attraction are humans. It also does not look like a dog/coyote at all; it looks more like a human/alien/zombie/coyote that walks on two feet.

The Moca Vampire

In 1975 there was a wave of UFO sightings across Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean region. Coincidently during that time period, a large number of Puerto Rican farmers reported unexplained animal killings. The victims included everything from ducks to cows, and goats. The animals had been cut open and their blood sucked out of according to the witness reports. The very first reports of this strange happening came from a town called Moca. Because of that, they called it the Moca Vampire, in Spanish “El Vampire de Moco”. Explanation vary, everything from alien mutation of cattle to escaped crocodiles were mentioned. No matter what it was, after the UFO flap died out, the animal did as well.
After no cases of that kind occurred for a while, in the early 1900s the cattle massacre began in Puerto Rico. But since there was no UFO explanation for it, there was no easy clarification for the case. That’s when the era of the Chupacabra began.

Chupacabra Powers

Chupacabra's are said to be able to change colors like a chamaleon. Also they can fly or leap over twenty feet according to some witnesses. Apparently they swoop down from trees and catch small prey. Chupacabra's have red eyes. In some reports they claim that their red eyes have the ability to hyponotize and paralyze their prey. Chupacabra's have been compaired to vampires because they are blood suckers. They are also said to be intelligent because of their skill to be undetectable.

Theories on Chupacabra's

Alien Theory- One speculation is that chupacabra's are alien in origin. UFO's have been sighted where animals had been found mutilated and drained of their blood. So people think they are aliens or they are an abandoned pet of other intelligent beings that came to Earth a long time ago.
The Experiment Theory- The chupacabra is also believed to be the result of a secret government experiment in genetics. Thanks to genetic manipulations, new breeds of animals and plants are quite possible. So the chupacabra could have been developed by humans.
The Wild Animal Theory- This is a theory that explains the random mutilations of the animals that have been found and it is not the doings of a chupacabra. Authorities have claimed the deaths are due to attacks from groups of stray dogs, baboons, or exotic animals that were illegally introduced in the islands territory. The officials are also saying that the mutilations could have been done by humans who belong to a religious sect.

Chupacabra main attractions

The Chupacabra’s bite marks are mainly located on the neck, chest, belly, and anal areas. Victims bite marks are small regular patterns about a quarter to half inch in diameter. Mostly reproductive organs, sexual organs, anus, eyes and other soft tissue have been removed. Those bite marks might be similar to a dog or baboon, but these wounds penetrate through the right jawbone, muscle and tissue, and straight into the brain, which punctures the animal and causing instant death. When the wounds were found on the sides and belly of the victim, the penetration usually cuts through the stomach, down to the liver, removing sections of the organ and absorbing liquid from it. In conclusion, dogs and baboons wouldn’t be able to do such things.

First attacks of the Chupa Cabra

On March 1995, the first attacks were in reported in Puerto Rico. In this attack, eight sheep were discovered dead, each with three puncture wounds in the chest area and completely drained of blood. A few months later, in August, an eyewitness, reported seeing the creature in the Puerto Rican town of CanĂ³vanas, when as many as 150 farm animals and pets were reportedly killed. In 1975, similar killings in the small town of Moca, were attributed to “El Vampiro de Moca”, The Vampire of Moca. Initially it was suspected that the killings were committed by a Satanic cult. Later more killings were reported around the island, and many farms reported loss of animal life. Each of the animals had their bodies bled dry...

Blood Tests On The Chupacabra

There have been blood test done on the Chupacabra to become more knowledgeable of this creature. The genetic analysis has revealed that the blood is not compatible with human blood nor with any animal species known to science. The traces ratio of magnesium, phosphorous, calcium and potassium are incompatible with those of normal human blood. The ratios are too high. The albumen/glouline (RG ratio) was also incompatible. The results do not show any way possible that the creature could be compatible with those of any known animal species. It is said that the Chupacabra could be the product of a highly sophisticated genetic manipulation, an organism alien to our own environment or maybe even extraterrestrial.

Farmer Traps Chupacabra

Reggie Lagow, a farmer in Coleman, Texas, set up traps after the deaths of a few of his chickens and turkeys. He went to check the trap one day and found an animal described as a mix between a hairless dog, rat, and kangaroo. The farmer gave the animal to Texas Parks and Wildlife officials for further identification.

Encounters With The Chupacabra

Many people claim to have had personal sightings of the Chupacabra. In Caguas, a man states that a Chupacabra broke in his house through an open window. Once inside, the creature supposedly tore apart a child's stuffed teddy bear. The Chupacabra then left, leaving a puddle of a slimy substance on the floor and a piece of rotten meat on the window ledge. In another encounter, the Chupacabra turned different shades of color while in front of a terrified witness. The creature then made a strange hissing sound. The witness said that the hissing sound made her start to feel weak and disoriented. A similar story to this one involves a police officer. The officer who encountered the creature heard a hissing sound. He said he became so weak and disoriented that he had to stop following the creature and then stumbled back to his car. Some witnesses have reported that the Chupacabra can actually fly. It is said that the creature can do this with no guidance or propulsion. Also, it is said that the creature can vanish or materialize instantly.

Possible Truth to The Chupa Cabras Reality

One set of proof that there is such a Chupacabra was found in Texas. Reggie Lagow of Coleman Texas “claims to have caught a Chupacabra. After a number of his chickens and turkeys were killed, Lagow set up a trap to catch the culprit. What he found inside is being described as a mix between a hairless dog, a rat and a kangaroo.”(Mickels, 1) There is an image also shown with the details of the culprit. They say this animal was caught and shot at site. Well looking at the picture there is no proof that it was shot or trapped. There are no bullet holes, and no trap to be seen. The animal looks like a dog or maybe a kangaroo that has been shaved and been dead for awhile. This supposed proof is proof to the gullible public but not to a skeptic who can look deeper into the image and see that there isn’t much proof in the picture proving that it is a Chupacabra. Also the image may have been photo shopped by the guy who found it.

Backgroud

Chupacabra are said to be in Puerto Rico, Chile, Mexico, Miami, and Nicaragua. As stated in the last blog chupacabra means "goat sucker". They got their name because of some dead goats that were found in Puerto Rico, they had holes in their necks and their blood was apparently gone. There has been a lot of reported cases in Puerto Rico about animal mutations caused by chupacabras.Authorities in Puerto Rico are blaming these animal mutations on stray dogs or other animals.
